Today’s Chart of the Day from Chartr shows that 4+ bedroom houses went from being 25% of homes in 1973 to just under 50% of the nearly one million new homes constructed in 2022. Two-bedroom homes have stayed relatively stable, with the change being fewer three-bedroom homes. According to Chartr, they suspect the fourth bedroom is from the rise in work from home and the desire for an office more than an additional bedroom.
