Today’s Chart of the Day from the Wall Street Journal shows that home prices are falling on the West Coast of the U.S. and rising in the East. Some of the top increases are in the Miami and Tampa areas. Prices are declining on the West Coast due to technology industry layoffs and increased competition from Florida due to attractive weather and lower taxes.
A bonus chart from the same article shows that Tampa had the largest price increase of over 59% over last three years.
