Today’s Chart of the Day is from OfDollarsAndData and shows when the market is “down” after its last record high. As you can see, the market is down most of the time, and there are numerous 10% or greater downturns almost every 1.5 years. However, from time to time, the market hits new records and patience is rewarded by an annual return of 9.6% since 1926.
