Clearing Cache & Cookies

Clearing Cache & Cookies

Follow the instructions below.

When clearing your cache, the full history of the following items should be cleared:

  • Browsing history
  • Cookies and other site data
  • Cached images and files

In most computer-based web browsers, to open menus used to clear your cache, cookies, and history, press Ctrl-Shift-Delete (Windows) or Command-Shift-Delete (Mac). If shortcut key doesn't work, please follow the appropriate instructions below.

Desktop Browsers

Chrome

  1. In the browser bar, enter: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Select the following:
    • Browsing history
    • Cookies and other site data
    • Cached images and files
  3. From the Time range drop-down menu at the top, select All time.
  4. Click Clear data.
  5. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Firefox

  1. Click the menu button, then select Settings.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  3. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data.
  4. Select the following:
    • Cookies and other Site Data
    • Cached Web Content
  5. Click Clear.
  6. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Microsoft Edge

  1. In the browser bar, enter: edge://settings/clearBrowserData
  2. Select the following:
    • Browsing history
    • Cookies and other site data
    • Cached images and files
  3. From the Time range drop-down menu at the top, select All time.
  4. Click Clear now.
  5. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Opera

  1. From the Opera menu, select More tools , and then Clear browsing data.
  2. Select the following:
    • Browsing history
    • Cookies and other site data
    • Cached images and files
  3. From the Obliterate the following items from: drop-down menu at the top, select the beginning of time.
  4. Click Clear browsing data.
  5. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Safari

  1. Click on the Safari menu, then select Clear History.
  2. In the Clear field choose All History, then click Clear History.
  3. Go to Safari and click Quit Safari or press Command-Q to exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Mobile Browsers

The steps to clear your cache, cookies, and history may differ depending on the model of your Android device and your preferred browser. However, you should be able to clear your cache and data from your application management settings menu:

  1. Go to Settings and choose Apps.
  2. In the list of installed apps, find and tap your web browser. Tap Clear Data and then Clear Cache .
  3. Exit/quit all browser windows and re-open the browser.

Chrome for Android

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app.
  2. At the top right, tap More.
  3. Tap History 
  4. Clear browsing data.
  5. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  6. Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  7. Tap Clear data.

Safari (Apple iOS)

Note: The following steps apply to the newest version of Mobile Safari for iOS. If you need instructions for older versions, you might find them in Apple Support's Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

  1. To clear your history and cookies, go to Settings > Safari, and tap Clear History and Website Data. Clearing your history, cookies, and browsing data from Safari won't change your AutoFill information.
  2. To clear your cookies and keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.

Chrome for iOS

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app.
  2. At the top-right, tap More.
  3. Tap History. 
  4. Clear browsing data.
  5. Make sure that there’s a tick mark next to 'Cookies, site data' and 'Cached images and files'.
  6. Tap Clear browsing data.
