Arcadia and Englewood, Fla., Jan. 9, 2025 – Demolition has begun at the Englewood Crews Bank & Trust branch, 1111 S. McCall Road, Englewood, and is near completion at the Arcadia North branch, 400 N. Brevard Ave., Arcadia. Customers can expect construction at both locations to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026.
“This is a very big day for our community,” shared Joe Cataldo, Area President of the Englewood and Boca Grande markets. “It’s a new chapter for us; it’s exciting. We look forward to continuing to serve our community in our new state-of-the-art branch.”
The Englewood branch has been the hub of the Englewood community since the 1980’s. Many Crews employees started their banking career in the building and were onsite to watch from afar and swap memories as the building came down.
“This is where I started my banking career twenty-two years ago,” shared Larry McLaren, Chief Banking Officer. “It’s a full-circle moment to watch the building come down due to the damage from Hurricane Ian, and I'm extremely excited for the new building that's going to replace it. I can't wait to be able to work from here again.”
Prior to demolition, The Englewood Area Fire Control District used the storm-damaged branch for vital training exercises. This unique opportunity allowed these Hometown Heroes to sharpen skills like vertical ventilation on a commercial roof, hose deployment, and command communication—training that ensures they are ready for any emergency.
During demolition and construction, both locations will continue to offer Drive-Thru services. The Drive-Thru at the Englewood location is offering walk-up services and can be accessed from Bay Heights Road (off S. McCall Road). In Arcadia, customers can use the Drive-Thru at 335 N. Brevard Avenue.
