Melissa Black Promoted to AVP, Retail Banking Officer

Arcadia, Fla., August 28, 2023 – Melissa Black was recently promoted to AVP, Retail Banking Officer of Crews Bank & Trust. She will oversee both the East Arcadia branch, as well as the original North Arcadia location, which is expected to re-open late this year after major renovations. In this position, she will manage the day-to-day operations of the branches. Her other responsibilities will be creating a focused business plan for future growth and success in the Arcadia area.

“Melissa has held so many positions in our bank,” remarked Market President Justin Fussell. “I am excited to see her taking this next step in her career. She is a natural leader and has proven herself again and again. This is a well-deserved promotion.”

Black, who has over 26 years of experience in all areas of banking with Crews Bank & Trust, worked her way through the ranks, starting as a bookkeeper and moving on to customer service, both roles including supervisory aspects. She was born in Virginia and moved to Arcadia as a child, where she graduated from DeSoto High School. Black works closely with Link2Success, and often gives tours of the bank and speaks to local schools about banking.

“I love banking and our hometown bank atmosphere,” said Black when asked what she loved about her job. “We have a lot of amazing customers and I look forward to working with them and our staff in my new position.”

When not at work or volunteering, Black’s life is all about her family. She and her husband, Mike, love spending time with their two children, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. She also enjoys riding their motorcycle, camping, and baking.
